How to make a favicon
A good favicon starts simple, stays readable when tiny, and exports the right files for browsers and devices.
Choose an image or text
If you already have a logo, upload it as SVG, PNG, JPG/JPEG or WebP. If you do not have a logo yet, a short text favicon with initials can work well.
Simple shapes, strong contrast and minimal detail usually perform best in browser tabs.
Preview at tiny sizes
The 16x16 and 32x32 previews are the real test. Check whether the shape is recognizable and whether text remains readable.
Use zoom, background color and roundness to make the icon clearer before downloading.
Use the favicon on your site
After export, place the favicon files in your public root and add the install links from the README into your HTML head.
