Why your favicon looks blurry

Blurry favicons usually come from too much detail, weak contrast, awkward scaling or a source image that was never designed for tiny sizes.

There is too much detail

Thin strokes, small words, complex illustrations and subtle gradients can disappear when the browser shows the favicon at 16x16.

Try simplifying the mark, using initials, or increasing the contrast between foreground and background.

The icon is scaled awkwardly

If the artwork is too close to the edge, browsers may make it feel cramped. If it has too much empty space, it can look tiny.

Use Faviqon's zoom and drag controls while watching the 16x16 and 32x32 previews.

The contrast is too low

Low-contrast icons can look soft even when the source artwork is sharp.

Use a stronger foreground/background combination and check the AA and AAA contrast badges before exporting.
